Turtle House Press is proud to announce that WHY ARE TURTLES SO CRAZY AWESOME? is the #1 BESTSELLER in Children’s Science & Nature on Amazon.
To celebrate, we’re climbing a big pile of rocks!
Devil’s Marble Yard in southwestern Virginia is a big old pile of Antietam Quartzite. And by old, we mean over 500 million years. According to Roanoke Outside, “The boulder have tube-like structures running along them that are believed to be the fossilized cavities where worm-like creatures once lived.”
Great views! They inspired my twins to make the heroic climb to the top so they could “do the dance” (which, to 10 year old boys, translates into an arm-waving, bum-shaking hilltop boogie).
